QUEZON CITY — On September 27, 2026, delegates from the Diocese of Imus Ministri sa mga Migrante joined other dioceses, Church leaders, and government partners at the Diocesan Shrine of Jesus the Divine Word and Christ the King Seminary in Quezon City to celebrate the 40th National Migrants’ Sunday under the theme “Even Just One of These Children.”

The primary highlight of the national event held at the shrine's Arnold Janssen Hall was the recognition of three Cavite parishes nominated for the Gawad Parokyang Lingkod OFW, led by Pope St. John XXIII Parish in Salawag, Dasmariñas City, which secured a 10th-place award. The Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of the Pillar (Imus Cathedral) and Our Lady of Fatima Parish (Salitran II, Dasmariñas City) were also honored among the 50 nominee parishes nationwide.

The celebration opened with a High Mass presided over by CBCP-ECMI Chairman Most Rev. Socrates C. Mesiona, MSP, D.D. In his homily, Bishop Mesiona urged the faithful to extend pastoral care beyond overseas Filipino workers to include internal migrants, relocatees, and displaced families. Following the Mass, key institutional partners—including the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)—signed a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement (MOPA) to enhance legal and social support networks for migrant families.

The national recognition serves as both an achievement and a call to action for the Diocese of Imus to expand its Ministri sa mga Migrante across all Cavite parishes, reinforcing its commitment to welcoming and empowering families on the move.
