Continuing its series of learning sessions and coordination meetings with Parish Finance Lay Coordinators, the Diocesan Finance Office, led by Rev. Fr. Bernie Gacelo, conducted its Third Learning Session on October 17, 2026, at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, with Parish Finance Lay Coordinators from the Episcopal District of St. Mark in attendance.
The session once again served as a valuable venue for learning, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices. It reiterated the importance of responsible financial management, accountability, accurate financial reporting, and sound decision-making in parish administration. It also emphasized the importance of close collaboration among the Parish Finance Council, the Parish Priest, and the Ministri ng mga Ingat-yaman sa mga Parokya in promoting transparency, accountability, and the proper stewardship of Church resources.
The Diocesan Finance Office extends its heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Fr. Julius R. De Sagun, Vicar Forane of the Vicariate of St. Mary Magdalene, for his hands-on support and warm hospitality during the gathering. In his welcome remarks, he emphasized the vital role of the Finance Council in supporting and advancing the mission of the Church.
The fourth and final learning session is scheduled on October 24, 2026, at the Casas Hall in Bishop’s House, City of Imus, Cavite. Parish Finance Council Coordinators from the Episcopal District of St. Matthew are expected to attend. Those from other Episcopal Districts who were unable to participate in the previous three learning sessions are also highly encouraged to join this final gathering to benefit from the discussions and strengthen their commitment to responsible financial stewardship in their respective parishes.
