Dear Brother Priests, Consecrated Persons, and Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Imus,
Greetings of peace!
The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has called our attention to the plight of indigenous peoples (IP's) communities, particularly the Molbog and Cagayanen indigenous peoples at Bugsuk Island in the Municipality of Balabac, and the community of Maria Hangin (a separate island which is also part of Barangay Bugsuk) in Palawan, who are experiencing harassment and whose ancestral lands are under threat and demolition.
This letter seeks to raise awareness of the struggles faced by indigenous communities, not only in Palawan but throughout the counfry.
Let us pray that their dignity be protected, and that they may live in freedom and peace through the support of our government and collaboraƄon of our communities and institutions.
Attached is the pastoral letter from CBCP for your reference. (Kindly click the link below.)
Given at the Chancery Office, City of Imus, Cavite on the 27th of August 2027.
