Dear Brother Priests, Consecrated Persons, and Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Imus,

Greetings of peace!
The Fifth World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, which was established by His Holiness Pope Francis in 2021 to honor their significant role in the transmission and growth of the Christian faith, will be held on the 27th of July 2025, which is the Sunday closest to the liturgical memorial of Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.
The late Pope Francis reminds us that the elderly are signs of hope because even if their bodies are weak, nothing can prevent them from loving, praying, and being there for one another. In this celebration, Pope Leo XIV affirms our commitment to care for them as old age is a time of blessing and grace as the elderly are the first witnesses of hope.
I encourage all parishes and Christian communities to initiate programs and activities that will highlight the significance of this meaningful event.
