Salamin, Salamin: Reflecting God's Love sa amin by Binibiyayaang Kabataan 

A Glimpse into KABISIG 2024

On August 26, 2024, the Diocese of Imus, organized by the Diocesan Youth Ministry (DYM), hosted the highly anticipated KABISIG 2024 Youth Festival at Ugnayang La Salle, De La Salle University - Dasmariñas. The event, themed "Salamin, Salamin: Reflecting God's Love sa amin by Binibiyayaang Kabataan," gathered youth from across the diocese to celebrate their faith and reflect on 1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love."

The festival began with a Holy Mass presided by Most Rev. Reynaldo G. Evangelista, D.D. In Bishop Rey’s homily, he emphasized being called, blessed, and sent, highlighting that God continuously invites and blesses the youth, urging them to embrace their roles as messengers of His love.

Following the Mass, the program featured a showcase of talents by the Binibiyayaang Kabataan, a series of talks, and interactive activities. The first talk, "Kwento ng Pag-ibig ng Diyos—Kwento ng Pagtugon," was led by Mr. Andrew Napoleon L. Velasquez and co-hosted by Sister Lischiel Fernandez. This talk focused on responding to God's call driven by love rather than material gain. Mr. Drew shared his experience in decades of service, demonstrating how the love of God guides him through challenges and affirms his vocation.

The second talk, "Huwag muna tayong umuwi—Kwento ng Pananatili” featured Sister James Montablan, Tito Rommel, and Tita Eugene. They discussed perseverance in faith and constant love of God despite personal doubts and rejections. Their message highlighted the importance of prayer, patience, and trust in God’s plan, encouraging the youth to embody God's love in their lives.

The third talk, "Magkayakap tungo sa ating pangarap—Kwento ng Pamumunga," was presented by Coach Jeronimo Perez and co-hosted by Rev. Fr. Ross Layugan, DYM Priest Animator. Coach Mimo and Fr. Ross shared how embracing God's call leads to personal and spiritual growth, reflecting God's love through one’s actions and service.

The event concluded with Fr. Ross announcing the Gawad Kabitenyong Kabataan award which will be awarded annually, recognizing the significant contributions of youth to the ministry. The 2024 honourees included Jerome Gumanit, Niña Isabelle Villanueva, John Christian Silva, Marianne Therese Siapo, Sister Lorily Felicidad (USAHJ), John Isaac Geradilla, Jon Agustin Lazaro, Sister Lieschiel Hernandez (USAHJ), George Nicholai Fernandez, Ma. Ciara Policarpio, and Samuel Hervinne Monzon, DYM Coordinator.

KABISIG 2024 was a success, celebrating God’s love among the youth in the Diocese of Imus and reflecting a strong sense of faith  among all participants.
