As we approach the year 2033, the 2000th year of our redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the descent of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, the Global 2033 was launched by the organizers of the Philippine Conference on New Evangelization, in collaboration with the Sangguniang Layko ng Pilipinas, to unite a coalition of Christian, Gospel-centered, global movement to a shared and collective vision that all people should have an opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. With the aim to make the next ten years the greatest decade of Great Commission effort in history, Global 2033 movement began with the Leaders' Summit 2024 Philippines. The summit occurred last September 19-21, 2024 at The Lordโs Flock Heritage Building in Quezon City.
The event was participated by leaders from ecclesial communities, ministries, movements, Dioceses, denominational and educational contexts invited. Among the participants were delegates from the Diocese of Imus namely, Samuel Hervinne Monzon from the Ministri sa Kabataan and Suzette Medina from the Diocesan Ministry on Catechesis (DMC).
The three-day summit explored where the Holy Spirit has already been at work in the Philippines and Asia through communities represented being provided an opportunity to share. There were also moments of prayer, strategic planning, and the exchange of innovative approaches and tools to advance the Churchโs mission.
We continue to pray for the realization of the global mission to equip and mobilize 133 million Catholics to become Missionary Disciples all over the world.
