Dear Brother Priest, Consecrated Persons, and Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Imus,

Greetings of peace!

In view of our responsibility to safeguard sacred images and icons entrusted to our care in our parishes and communities, the Presbyteral Council of the Diocese of Imus agreed that the original features and appearances of images and icons of patron saints and other sacred representations must remain unaltered.

Any modification to their form, expression, attire, or other symbolic attributes must be avoided in order to preserve their historical integrity and devotional significance.

I enjoin all the clergy and the faithful to exercise vigilant and respectful stewardship over sacred images and icons in their custody. Restoration initiatives, for instance, must be done with proper consultation and professional guidance from ecclesiastical authorities and experts in order to ensure fidelity to the original intention and form.

May this be an opportunity to value the significance of our images and icons that have nurtured our faith through the years and for some, even centuries.
