Dear Brother Priests, Consecrated Persons, and Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Imus,
Greetings of peace!
The ongoing war in the Middle East, with its tragic toll on human lives and its profound economic repercussions, moves us to reflect on the reality of sin and its moral and social implications.
The Catholic Bishops's Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), in communion with the Holy Pope Leo XIV, enjoins everyone to pray for the peace and ask the Lord for the grace of mercy and forgiveness through the following activities:
1. Prayer vigil for world peace in all parishes and religious commuinities on Saturday, April 11, 2026, which is in spiritual union with the vigil at St. Peter's Basilica. These may take the form of Eucharistic adoration, praying the Holy Rosary, Holy Mass for peace, or other suitable liturgical activities.
2. Observance of the nationwide renewal of the Consecration to the Divine Mercy on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 12, 2026. The Prayer of Consecration to the Divine Mercy is to be recited in place of General Intercessions (Prayer of the Faithful)in all masses. This solem act is a profound expression of our trust in the Lord's mercy, especially in these times of uncertainty. As Our Lord revealed to St. Faustina: "I desire that My mercy be worshiped, and I am giving mankind the last hope of salvation, that is, recourse to My mercy" (Diary, 998)
May the Lord, through these spiritual activities, hear our supplications and grant us the grace of forgiveness, peace and transformation.
Given at the Chancery Office, City of Imus, Cavite on the 8th of April 2026.
