Dear Brother Priests, Consecrated Persons, and Lay Faithful of the Diocese of Imus,

Greetings of peace!

In view of the upcoming concurrences in the liturgical celebrations, I enjoin all our communities to observe the following:

1. On September 8, 2024, Sunday, the liturgical celebration of the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time will be observed; the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary  is impeded this year by the Sunday in Ordinary Time following the norms governing the liturgical calendar. (Table of Precedence of Liturgical Days, II, 6).   As a gesture of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the offering of incense and flowers, prayers, or Marian hymns may be observed at the conclusion of the mass.  The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary will not be transferred to the following day.
2. The liturgy for the Feast of the Exultation of the Cross will be celebrated during the evening masses on September 14, 2024, Saturday and not the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time since the Feasts of the Lord take precedence over Sundays in Ordinary Time.  The Feast of the Lord that fall on Sundays will be celebrated as solemnities.

Therefore, on the evening masses, Gloria and Credo are recited or sung.  The readings are the following:
          Nm 23:4-9 / Ps 78:1-2,34-35.36-37.38 / Phil 2:6-11 / Jn 3:13-17
          Vespers II of the Feast will be prayed.
Those who participate in these evening Masses already fulfill their Sunday obligations.  
Daytime Masses on  September 14 will also follow the usual norms of the celebration of a Feast.
